Bert and Lola Bloomhall go way back in Peever. Bert was one of the signers of the incorporation of the town. In 1903 there is record of them buying lots 23 and 24 of block 9 from A.. Miller. They held this property until 1918 when the record states that they sold it to A. F. Erstgaard. Their son in law was Adolph Erstgaard so that is more than likely the same person. At that time they moved to Milbank where they lived with their son Lester and his wife Agnes. Bert worked with Lester on his dray line for 32 years. Agnes Bloomhall was still living in Milbank at the time we printed this Pioneer portrait in the Peever Pilot 2001..(the August 2000 issue.) She gave us the family information and the picture. Other information was taken from old Peever Pilots where their name was mentioned frequently, talking about things they were doing in business and for fun. Bert and Lola had three children: Myrtle married Adolph Erstgaard. They had seven children: Lyle, Clella, Ardys, Delores, Anita, Dick and Gene. Ethel married George Eastman. They had one child: Avis (Arnold) Lester married Agnes. They had two children: Donna (Adams) and Lester Jr.

MORE ABOUT THE BLOOMHALLS FROM THE PEEVER PILOT Jan. 4, 1907 Lester Bloomhall went to Milbank yesterday morning to spend the day with the Lewis family. Adolph Erstgaard, who spent a couple of weeks at Wheaton, MN, visiting with friends and relatives, returned yesterday and resumed his duties behind the bank counter. Manager Bloomhall of the Peever baseball team is corresponding with the White Rock team for a game to be played at the latter town on the 26th of this month. July 1904 Mr. and Mrs. Bert Bloomhall and son Lester went to Milbank Friday to take in the carnival. Bert Bloomhall, M. Opitz, and Ole Bakken were among those who antied a dollar this week for their Pilot subscription. Bert Bloomhall is going into the threshing business with Mr. Hensell. Bert Bloomhall went to the cities Saturday to close up the threshing machine deal...1905.

LOLA BLOOMHALL'S BIRTHDAY PARTY A birthday party and dance was given in the Woodman Hall Wednesday evenig by Bert Bloomhall in celebration of his wife Lola's 36th birthday and a very large crowd attended. Dancing was the chief entertainment after which all repaired to the beautifully decorated dining room of the Central Hotel and indulged in a feast fit for kings and queens. Mrs. Bloomhall was the recipient of a beautiful leather rocking chair which was presented to her by those in attendance. All reported that it was the occasion of the season....March 1907

Bloomhall and Hensell's threshing rig was unloaded this week and will soon be ready for business. it is a Reeves and will be run by Mr. Smith. it will pay farmers to see them before letting their threshing job...August 18, 1905 Latest reports have it that Mrs. Bloomhall will have charge of the Central Hotel after June 1st...1906. *************** Agnes (Mrs. Lester Bloomhall) passed away in 2001 at Milbank.
